Technique Class Success!

Happy Saturday, Stampers!

Just wanted to give a great report on our October Techniques class- we made beautiful shaker cards and managed to leave somewhat glitter free:)

A few reminders/tips:

Use Scotch brand foam mounting tape to create the perfect seal around shaker frames and remember to firmly seal your stamped image to the mounting tape!

Less is more when adding beads to your shaker frame; you can be more liberal with Dazzling Diamonds:)

Use the medium weight window sheets (pg 158) for a beautiful clear 'window'.

Be creative and have a great time as you design more shaker cards of your own:)

October Technique Class!

It's time to learn a new technique- shaker cards!!!

I'm thrilled to share this with you- we're going to have a great time! BTW, the card shown above is not one of the designs we'll be using- I'm afraid I'm still without a camera, but most everyone has seen at least one of the designs we'll be creating at class/clubs this month!

Participants will create 4 custom hand-stamped cards with matching envelopes; 2 will be Christmas themed and 2 friendship themed (non holiday).

Simple Christmas card

Good Evening, Stampers,

Today I wanted to share a card created by Andrea- it's super easy & perfect for making a stack! The colors used are Whisper White & Soft Suede; the letters were made out of fun foam using the Big Shot and then covered with 2-Way glue and Dazzling Diamonds! The snowflake was made by stamping Versamark over Whisper White card stock, covering with Iridescent Ice, embossing and then punched out using the Snowflake punch!

October Christmas Card Class!

September Technique Class Success!

Hello Stampers,

I'd like to thank all those who attended our September Techniques class, including my Mom's ladies:) We had a blast learning 'Cracked Glass'!

Above is shown one of the designs that we created highlighting the Autumn Days and Harvest Home stamp sets. We also broke out the Square Fire Rhinestone brads to add some bling:) Notice the richness of the Crushed Curry & Dusty Durango with the Chocolate Chip- these In Colors are perfect for fall!

Stamping Tip!

Hi Stampers,

I recently have received some questions concerning using brand new stamps- the images are not inking well etc...

Here's a tip to help get your stamps 'feelin' the love' sooner:)

In the above photo, there is a Sanding Block to the left of the stamps- see it? Sanding blocks (sku 103301, pg 188, 2009 IBC) are a great and inexpensive stamper's tool and I'm about to show you one more great way to use yours!

Here we go:

When you have a brand new, large, solid stamp, it's often difficult to get a good solid inked image on your card stock without it looking streaky or blotchy.

Here's the remedy:

Rub your Sanding Block gently over the rubber of your new stamp- this will break the coating on the rubber. See the right sided stamp image below? It looks a bit chalky. After sanding the rubber, wipe it off on your Stampin' Scrub (sku 102642, pg 190, 2009 IBC). You'll be much happier with your stamped image now!
