For a Friend

Hi Stampers,

I love to send cards to friends/neighbors & family 'just because' but so often I only get around to sending cards for a specific celebration or occasion. Just so with this fun card! I wanted to send my thanks to a dear friend and fellow church member, Suzanne, for her hard work during a marriage seminar that our church hosted last week.

I chose Tart & Tangy as my inspiration- this set is the best!

Ingredients:

Stamps: Tart & tangy, Defining Alphabet, Define Your Life
Card Stock: Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Ink: Basic Black classic, Cameo Coral classic, So Saffron classic, Certainly Celery classic
Accessories: Stamp-a-majig, White Uni-ball gel pen, Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8inch Circle punch, 1 1/4inch Circle punch, 2-way Glue pen, Paper Snips, Dazzling Diamonds, Celery Twill Tape (Sale-a-bration), Dimensionals, SNAIL

Sorry if it's not clear in the photo, but the half slice of lime in the main stamped frame and the grapefruit on the scallop are 'sugared' with the Dazzling Diamonds!

I CASED my layout from this card submitted to Splitcoast Stampers by Laura aka 'CheeseHeadinCA'. I tweaked it as always- hope you like:)

This card is so easy to replicate- I hope you'll go for it! Contact me today to add any of the above supplies to your stash!

Teacher Appreciation Cards

Good Evening Stampers,

I wanted to share 2 of the cute teacher appreciation cards that my step kids made today, in the Stamping Studio!

The first was made by Leyla (aged 12)- she learned the joys of using the crop-a-dile today & loved it:)

I CASED the layout for this from the card below and let Leyla tweak it!

Next is Kourosh's 'Wild About You' card- he especially enjoyed the 'bite' taken out of his card! I chose a simpler layout that was easy for Kouorosh (aged 8) to work with- fast paced & not too much fuss:)

All supplies were Stampin' Up! except for the curly paper clips on Kourosh's card- they were left over from when I was in high school! Kourosh felt his card needed a little more pizazz!

Contact me today to get some great ideas for teacher appreciation cards/projects and to add Wild About You to your stamp collection!

Ode to Stamp-a-majig

Hi Everyone,

Today I wanted to pay tribute to one of my all time favorite stamping accessories: the Stamp-a-majig. I can't craft without it:) If this sensational tool isn't on your wishlist yet, then maybe the following will help:)

Here is my Ode to Stamp-a-majig:

Stamp-a-majig, Stamp-a-majig, how could I stamp without you?
Your teensy size, like Big Shot dies,
Makes you a prize among supplies!

Stamp-a-majig, Stamp-a-majig, how I love to scrap with you!
Stamp in leisure, with great pleasure,
You're a treasure, beyond measure!

Stamp-a-majig, Stamp-a-majig, how I must create with you!
Made by design, without decline,
Peerless you shine, say you'll be mine!

Hope you enjoyed my little Ode:) Contact me today to make this great tool part of your collection- it's a steal for $12.95!!!

My Mother's Day Card

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to belatedly share the Mother's Day card I created for my Mom this year. Since May is National Scrap booking month, I used this theme for the card by creating a mini scrap book:) To the right is the front of the card, showing myself as a little girl with my Mom.

The next set of pages shows a mini journaling section and a picture of my Mom, our family dog, Sugar, and myself as a teen! On all of the colored portions of the pictures, I ran the versamarker over them and doused in clear embossing powder
and embossed to preserve the color. I liked this extra touch very much!

The third set of pages shows my Mom and Sugar with myself and
my dog, Ladybug- this was to represent our present lives together:)

The last photo show the tabs that I included within 2 pockets in the card- the images are stamped in Whisper White craft ink on
Basic Black card stock & the definitions are from the Define
Your Life stamp set, a must have:)

Ingredients:

Stamps: All in the Family, Family Accessories, Define Your Life, Congratulations (Sale-a-bration)
Card Stock: Kraft 12 x 12, Basic Black, Naturals White, Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, retired designer series paper (Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery)
Ink: Black Staz-on, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal, Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand, Whisper White Kraft, Black Stampin' Write marker, Versamarker
Accessories: Stamp-a-majig, Aqua Painters, Sponge, Spiral Punch, Word Window Punch, Tab Punch, Clear Embossing powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Anywhere Glue sticks, SNAIL

Ingredients:
Stamps: All in the Family
Card stock: Close to Cocoa, Night of Navy, Sage Shadow, Naturals White, Close to Cocoa Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Chit Chat rub-ons, Circle Scissors Plus, Word Window punch, Aqua Painters, Sponge, White Uni-ball Gel pen, Night of Navy 1/4inch Grosgrain ribbon, Clips Assortment, SNAIL.

I sponged this card a lot (each layer) and added faux stitching with the uni-ball pen and dots around the center image with the Close to Cocoa marker. Scrap Booking Techinques/Ideas!

Hi Night Owls,

Below are some great tips for scrap booking that I just had to share; again, if you haven't scrapped yet, take the plunge this month! Come to one of my scrap classes in May and see how fun and relaxing scrapping can be:) Enjoy reading!

Below are some suggestions to help make better use of your time with your hobby:

1. Gather all of your pictures together from a single event.

2. If you have the room, lay out many sheets of cardstock and lay the
pictures on the cardstock at random.

3. Have sketches available to use as a guide.

4. Gather your embellishments that you plan to use; maybe you have a theme or just plan to use whatever appeals to you at the time.

5. Decide if you are going to cut your mats and photos with a straight edge or with a decorative edge.

6. Do not forget to make a journal box for each of your pages.

7. Don't worry if you are not able to finish your pages at one time. At least you have a start and the next time you have a few minutes a good portion of the decision making has already been done.

8. Last and most important, have fun and remember the event as you work on your pages.

Always remember enjoy your hobby and don't feel as if it is another job.
