Stamping Tip!

Hi Stampers,

I recently have received some questions concerning using brand new stamps- the images are not inking well etc...

Here's a tip to help get your stamps 'feelin' the love' sooner:)

In the above photo, there is a Sanding Block to the left of the stamps- see it? Sanding blocks (sku 103301, pg 188, 2009 IBC) are a great and inexpensive stamper's tool and I'm about to show you one more great way to use yours!

Here we go:

When you have a brand new, large, solid stamp, it's often difficult to get a good solid inked image on your card stock without it looking streaky or blotchy.

Here's the remedy:

Rub your Sanding Block gently over the rubber of your new stamp- this will break the coating on the rubber. See the right sided stamp image below? It looks a bit chalky. After sanding the rubber, wipe it off on your Stampin' Scrub (sku 102642, pg 190, 2009 IBC). You'll be much happier with your stamped image now!

Hope this little tip helps you and further endears your Sanding Block too! Remember you can shop 24/7 here to get your Stampin' Up! supplies!

Happy stamping,

Tiffany

Pumpkins!

Hi Stampers,

I had just had to share Andrea Walford's latest pumpkin card with you all- isn't it cute?:)

Notice the great use of the Autumn Harvest stamp set (IBC, pg 26) as well as the Sanded background stamp (IBC, pg 134). Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper (Holiday Mini Catalog, pg 11) is also used- this is a great black & white DSP pack and includes 2 printed 12x12 window sheets too!

The greeting is from the House of Haunts stamp set (IBC, pg 22) and the Old Olive vines are from the Swirls Scribbles die for the Sizzix Big Shot:)

Try making your own pumpkin card- have fun!

Mounting New Stamps!

Good Evening Stampers,

In celebration of the upcoming weekend, I thought I would give a small tutorial on mounting new stamps- it's easy and therapeutic!

Here we go!

First, take a look at the clear adhesive stickers to gauge which wooden blocks are allotted to each image. Place the clear stickers on their respective blocks, as seen below.
I recommend adhering the stickers before mounting the actual rubber stamps- sometimes the sticker image has the stamp facing a different direction!

Next, separate the rubber images from the sheet- they should just pop out with a little added pressure- see below:

Now, mount the rubber stamps to their respective blocks, as seen below- be sure to assess which way the words/images should face! Think 'mirror':)

Once you've completed mounting all the stamps, you're done- ta da! Enjoy stamping!

Hope this helps & be sure to let me know if you have any further questions/concerns!

Have a great weekend & happy stamping,

Tiffany

Autumn Splendor

Happy Thursday Stampers,

I'm stranded at home, away from the Stamping Studio at present (not willing to risk driving in the torrential rain) and so must share a card created by another stamper, Tammy!

Isn't this card beautiful- I love the addition of Sage Shadow with the Chocolate Chip, which is an often overlooked color combination! It's highlighted in the To the Nines Designer Series Paper also shown here!

This card showcases the brand new, Autumn Splendor stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog as well as the level 1 hostess stamp set, Holiday Best. Tammy stamped the leaves with our Basic Brown ink, then applied color with Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Wonder Crayons and blended with an Aqua Painter!

This technique isn't difficult, but practice does make perfect, for the perfectionist stampers, like myself! We'll be highlighting water coloring techniques in our November Techniques class so mark your calendars and don't miss out! The technique classes have been filling up very quickly so sign up now!

Want to know what we're doing in technique class this month? September heralds the arrival of fall and with it comes a gorgeous technique: 'cracked glass'! We'll be using the Lovely as a Tree & Autumn Days stamp sets- pictures will be on my blog by the end of this week as well as the paypal button. I've been so looking forward to sharing some flashy fall projects and the September technique class will serve as the platform!

Where: Stamping Studio
When: Friday, Sept 25th from 6:30-8:30pm

Participants will create 4 flashy cards (these will definitely go to your special friends!) as well learn a flashy technique for just $20- play with some special toys/products and learn even more about Stampin' Up! tools!

See you soon & happy stamping,

Tiffany

This square card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches and highlights the Look Who's Turning & Circle Circus stamp sets!

Have a kid's birthday coming up? Try your own spin on this card, sure to delight your recipient:)

Remember you can place an order anytime, 24/7 here!
